Cleveland County GOP Sheenanagins 2009

Dear Delegates:

I wish to set the record straight.  You may have received a letter signed by me that endorsed Bobby Cleveland for Republican County Chair for Cleveland County.  In that letter I mentioned his opponent for that position which is Chad Williams.  It has come to my attention that some of the statements in that letter in regard to Chad Williams were not accurate or may be read in a way that leads to inaccurate conclusions.  For that I apologize. 

            The statement that he has been registered as a Republican in Cleveland County for two and a half years may be factual, but could be misconstrued. According to Chad, he was active in the party prior to serving in the military, at which time he moved his registration and then registered again in Cleveland County upon his return.  I was unaware of his service to our country.  I am grateful to Chad and to all who have served our country.

            Please consider any other statements in the letter about Chad as withdrawn.  Please refer to Chad’s own statements and literature for information.  I stand by the information about Bobby Cleveland and I appreciate the many years of work he has done for the party.  I appreciate the willingness of both candidates to run for this office and regret if I put out any misleading information.  I want to stand for the truth and I want our party to do the same.  I want the best for our party and country.
