Alan Jones Whistleblower-exposed TMAPS (the model cited by the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health-this is one of the most evil government schemes I am aware of to date and because of it I do not trust schools one iota. Just finished my yearly trek to the school to let them know that "yes. I am a psycho-mom and you will still keep your mitts off my kid!") http://psychrights.org/Drugs/A...

Representative Richard Morrisette states;
"Students in public schools would be checked during the school year. Arrangements would be made for homeschooled students also to be screened"
"However, if parents don't work with school and health officials, the matter could be turned over to the state Department of Human Services for possible investigation"
He wants the state to conduct yearly BMI testing on all kids under age 16 public or homeschooled.
If you let them screen you child, whether psychological or physical, it is a matter of policy that if you don't manage the way they suggest you should-DHS is called. I went up and read the SOS (Signs of Suicide program same thing as teen screen, just a different name) training materials personally last year and notifying DHS was worked into a checklisted algorithm.
I will be happy to give Rep. Morrisette my feedback on his grand idea. This from the same guy who argues against churches working to help prisoners because it's un-constitutional. We can drug your kid or take them away if their BMI is not in the "normal" range, but keep those wacky do-gooders away from the tragically lonely and lost prisoners-it might violate their rights. I actually don't mean to make light of that particular issue either as I am aware of some problems with the faith-based initiatives programs. It's just that he was so sensitive to the constitution when it came to prisoners who, let's face it, really stand to benefit from that program despite whatever constitutional kinks there may be overall, but when it comes to parental rights-nada. Perish the thought. He must be quite sure enough of the state's qualifications to so carelessly put parents and children in such a dangerous position.
Morrisette; "Oversight over the Corrections Department and its programs is the job of the Legislature, not an appointed council or task force, said Rep. Richard Morrissette. The bill creates more government and bureaucracy.
"I'm not against the goals of this bill," said Morrissette, D-Oklahoma City. "But you are crossing the line (constitutionally)."
