It took place at a university in Virginia. A student with a grudge, an immigrant, pulled a gun and went on a shooting spree. It wasn't Virginia Tech at all. It was the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, not far away. You can easily drive from the one school to the other, just take a trip down Route 460 through Tazewell.

I have stories of my own where the gun was either drawn or exposed to stop an act of aggression.
One involved a student at Texas A&M who cut another student with a knife at a party and choose our yard as an escape route. My brother met him in the front yard with his weapon drawn, not knowing what was going on at three AM in the morning to make such a racket. When all was said and done, the young man was held by my brother and an off duty officer, (with no weapon of his own) who showed up a few minutes later in an unmarked truck, until taken into custody and no further crime was committed.
The one thing that caught my attention, they all had to go get a weapon from there automobile.
