  • Disturbing Trend of Ostracizing Opponents of Gay Marriage
    Blog
    Thursday, May 17, 2012 - 5:11pm
    libertas

I suppose as a private business, The Grove (an outdoor mall in Los Angeles) has the right to refuse service to anyone. But the latest trend of ostracizing and punishing those who oppose gay marriage is a bit chilling. Boxer Manny Pacquiao has been "banned" from The Grove for his socially conservative position. Who's next? Republicans? Evangelical Christians?

The Daily Caller's lead story today is a disturbing article about how NOW (The National Organization of Women) and Media Matters are attempting to censor and silence radio show host Rush Limbaugh. The plan (or plot) is to pressure (i.e. harass and bully) local advertisers to pull their advertising from his show. A "National Day of Action" is planned for May 18 to protest stations carrying Rush's show:

Today is May Day, and Occupy Wall Street has a full day of "action" planned in honor of "International Workers' Day." What the mainstream media usually fails to report when mentioning "International Workers' Day" is that May 1st is a big day of celebration and protest for communists and socialists.

  • The "War on Women": Why Libertarianism is the Answer

War on WomenI was a life-long Democrat until I finally realized that their support for women was mostly a sham. For many years I fell for the scare-mongering perpetrated by the Democrats - that the Republicans wanted to remove our "right to choose," that they wanted women stuck in the kitchen, and they were determined to keep a glass ceiling over our heads.

From Democracy Now! - National Security Agency Whistleblower William Binney on Growing State Surveillance:

In his first television interview since he resigned from the National Security Agency over its domestic surveillance program, William Binney discusses the NSA’s massive power to spy on Americans and why the FBI raided his home after he became a whistleblower. Binney was a key source for investigative journalist James Bamford’s recent exposé in Wired Magazine about how the NSA is quietly building the largest spy center in the country in Bluffdale, Utah. The Utah spy center will contain near-bottomless databases to store all forms of communication collected by the agency, including private emails, cell phone calls, Google searches and other personal data.
